In draw-in steam generators (tower boilers) the flue gas flows upstream through the furnace and the following convection heating surfaces. A connecting duct sees to it that the flue gases are led downstream to the air heater. A de-NOx unit can be integrated into this duct, if needed. This boiler type is usually of the suspended design and with gas-tight welded tube/membrane bar/tube walls. The tower boiler design can be used with circulation and non-circulation boilers (both super and sub-critical parameters) and for all the usual fuels.
